Hey Folks! :checkered:

My girlfriend and I are heading out Sunday morning for an easy ride. We are leading a couple guys from her work who are in town for just a week or two are from Florida. I'll be on a vstrom, she sv650, and I think the guys have a harley and a cbr, so, a mixed ride for easy riding.

We are leaving from the Holiday Inn Express @ Fairview Rd, Simpsonville --> 10am. We welcome any extra riders from the area!!

The route will be something like this:

Vicki and I will probably be in the area Sunday. I would think we will stay local, but we may try to make a run into Georgia or something also.....in other words, we have no idea what we are doing. We will have to be back home for the delivery of our daughter in the afternoon sometime around 4-ish, I think......Heck, we don't even know which bikes we'll be riding!VroomVroom

YOU never know what you're doing anyway!:finger:
Audrey will be back around 4-ish. So chances are that we will have to stay local unless you want to put lots of miles on really fast! In which case you are going to need something besides a Ducati.:p I guess you could go rent a scooter or something.:burnout:

Duh......I just thought of something.....we're easy to spot. Regardless which bikes we are on, I wear yellow/black leathers and Vicki wears blue/black leathers......I'm also usually getting slapped in the back of the head by her whenever we are stopped. :slap:

Be careful on what you vouch for, I have two hands, I can slap two people's noggins at one time. And Terry said he could use the much needed break!:slap: :slap: :p
Now, if you are vouching for Terry's Vespa scooters, we are on the same page! LOL:reddancer:
By the way, you need to bring that ST down this way and do some riding with us.:)

You should keep going north instead of hitting 64, take 215 Up till it runs into 276 and then head back down, thats the loop I am goinf to do Sun, as I posted in the Run to the Mountains 3/2 thread

 Totally agree with you Wolfman!! We're starting with this route and will see how the rest of the crew is doing since they are from the 2nd most popular state without curves...! IL being the first  .

'Tis was a BEAUTIFUL DAY!!!

The morning events made for a very late start, but I still had a fantastic day absolutely for sure! VroomVroom

Met up with our work friends and strolled through the coutryside making our way around civilization gittin over to the store. Cpt Obvious was still there waiting for us  and a couple other friends :hail: . I guess there was some commotion up 178 with a bike heading off, I heard he was ok though, roadrashed his toosch and arm. We all head north through 178 and absolutely no traffic for our sprint up to 64. Our work guys had to get back so Kim led them cross 64 and over to 276 and south again... the rest of us went north on 215 up the BRP!! oh wait.....

It was CLOSED!!! It was gunna be Capt Obv's first experience on there... well, he experienced it... on foot...!! :bs: :D Turned back down 215 and over to Brevard and south on 276, traffic got a little heavier there and watching for some bicyclists. :checkered:

I rode with some quick riders today... ... wellll, I followed some quick riderssss  You know who you are, and maybe the others will sign up here one day... :spank !

So... some pics....:

Sounds like you guys had a pretty good time riding. We must have just missed you. Terry helped fish out the bike that went over the edge. The guy said that a car ran him off.
We ran by the store a couple of times on our wanderings. We were having a good time just trying to stay away from LEOs.
I'm sorry I didn't read the map you proposed about trying to go over the BRP. I could have told you that it would be closed. Any time there is even a little snow/ice on it, they shut 'er down. I guess it is some sort of liability or something to have tourists sliding off the mountain to never be seen again.:p
It should be open again later this month. It would have most likely been VERY cold up there anyway. Hopefully you guys will be able to do that ride again soon and enjoy all of it.:)

Vicki,
That's what the werd was back at the store too about the rider. :( Hate to see and hear about riders in the ditch!

It fun and re-freshing, especially since I hadn't gotten all the way up and out there yet this year... :words: !

We actually didn't plan for the BRP route originally, but decided once we got to Rosman to extend the trip a little bit. All well, 215 was a nice ride nonetheless!!

We usually start our trips with a run up 215 (Especially for our long day trips during the summer when the days are long). But I was guessing there would be sand/salt everywhere. It looked clear in your pix I hope you all really enjoyed it.
Hopefully we will see you'all out next time we get a sitter and can go riding again.

I'm afraid I'm going to drop the camera so I have it mounted to the bike. It's not so easy to aim it. Most of the time, I just take a bunch of pictures and hope one of them turns out okay but most of the time they do.

Can't wait for long summer days on the BRP like this.
