chilli99katana I"ve got a couple of the small covers (timing advancer cover) if that is the one you broke You can have one. I think I even have a nice new gasket.
just FYI the oil cooled bandits and all the katanas used the same engine covers.
law1200 might want to remember that too.

Yeah I know a lot of the oil cooled engines share some parts. Chilli99katana if stretch dosen't have the cover you need I can dig you one up before the weekend get here.

I could definitely use one, can't find one for less than an arm or leg. I would much appreciate it. I can PM you my phone # and we can get together either one of these days after 6pm or sometime early on Saturday before you guys go out on your ride. My bike is still at my friends house, he lives in Easley off 135. If I can the cover on and get my friend to check out my carbs before Saturday or Sunday maybe I will be able to ride with you guys. Been dying to ride up there but I have been chicken because I am a very new rider with only a few months under my belt.

don't rush your self. and don't ever ride faster then you feel comfortable. We were all new at one time. and unless your name is Rossi there will always be someone faster.

Thanks. I always appreciate advice. I actually went to the Fountain Inn DMV after work since it is not too far from work and tried the course. Needless to say, I need to practice, especially sharp turns. Stalled out a couple of times, but that i think is because the bike isn't idling right.

Chilli99katana I just reread your post about the cover looks like you will need the starter clucth cover I have a friend who has one. PM sent with my number.

Got your PM, I'll give ya a call sometime tomorrow after 6pm, or at your convenience, I usually take lunch around 2.

Yeah, according to what I just looked up on ronayers.com the cover I need is the starter cover, on the left side of the bike. Beggars can't be choosers so if you have it I'll take it whenever whoever has it is available, I am available after 6pm Friday, all day Saturday and Sunday. I'd love to take advantage of Sunday's weather and go riding though.

came across this one on ebay. Its aparently made of stainless steel, so it wont break the next time the bike tips over.

Going to pick a cover up from a shop in Clemson (thanks to law1200 for the connection) first thing in the morning. No riding for me Saturday, promised my buddy I would help him paint his kitchen in return for him helping me with my bike. Maybe I will see you guys on Sunday at the store.

Just a quick update, I put the cover on the bike, works great. Fired it right up, got the bike home. Seems to be running ok for now. If I get up early enough I might see you guys at the store.
Many thanks to Chad for the part and advice, and Law1200 for the connection.

Glad to here you got the bike home. If you want to paint that cover let me or Chad know there is a small blast cabinet there at the shop sure makes stripping paint a breeze. I am going to be at the store a 12:00 today hope to see you there.
