Decent price for some 180 and even better 190 priced tire sets from cycle gear of the Pirelli Diablo Supersport:

http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?L1=&L2=&L3=&L4=&item=CGC_1430400_cmbo_pkg_G

Pplus 9.99 and 12.xx tax of course. 'Pre-order' only, won't ship till eom.

Got a 190 set coming for my FZ1 for $221 shipped.

so..... FYI... :scooter:

No kidding! I really miss when they were $149.95 a set.

For that price including tax and shipping, I think I'd probably lean more toward this Michelin 120/180 deal for $259 shipped...

As Cycle Gear keeps jacking the price up on their Diablo "deals", they become less and less appealing to me.

Did you already buy them? Usually the oversize charge is PER tire, so you should be looking at $199.99+$19.98+$12 = $231. At least they have usually charged per tire in the past (and it was only $8).

Yes, charge came in at $221.xx w/9.99 shipping.

If I needed a 180 set, I would not have jumped on it toooo hurriedly.... but for the same price I got the 190 which normally would be 15-30 more at swmoto.... so saved for a couple pitchers of beer there when I would need them in a couple months anyway.

That's pretty cool. I wonder if it is a screw up. When they ran the last sale on Diablos at $189.99 per set, they forgot to add the $8 per tire. They changed the price within four days when they caught it. They had another screw-up at the time that I tried to get a guy at work to take advantage of. Cycle Gear accidentally listed a 140 rear Qualifier for $46. When they caught the Diablo screw up, they also changed the Qualifier.......to $134!

Yeah, I'm notorious for stocking up on tires. I have at least three new sets of Diablos from the last sale on my tire rack and another two sets of other tires. I passed up on the first $190/set deal and figured I'd stock up on the second $190 deal before they ran out. I was actually a little surprised to see them run another sale, but at $190, it sure doesn't make me want to stock up on them.

You like running 190s? I've run a few and for the price difference, I'd rather run a 180. I also think the 180s respond better. Vicki's R1 is supposed to have a 190 on it, and we've been running 180s since about the second rear tire she had on it. C.R.S. seems to like running 190s, though. I think it's because he lives in Gray Court and hangs out with all the 'Busa owners at Bike Night at Hooters. :newrofl:

Hey Terry,
I've seen your picture of the stock pile :ok: ! Where do you dispose of your tires btw? I have a few that need gone.

My FZ1 still has the stock 190 on the rear and it's my first 190 bike... so I don't have enough seat time on it to compare or to a similar 180 bikes. My blackbird runs 180 of course, but it's a different animal. The consensus among blackbird riders on blackbirds, is that it's pointless and adds absolutely no street or track-day riding value. Cosmetic only, if you like the phat tire that is, lol. But since 190 is stock on the FZ1 and the same price as the 180 set.... what the hey, might as well keep it at 190! :beach:

The county landfill and their satellite sites (recycling centers) usually let you dispose of the tires there. I can take four tires to the landfill for recycling each trip....well, they limit you to one trip a day. ;)
