Anyone else been noticing a lot of deer activity lately?

I had a deer cross the road in front of me last night and a week ago on my way home from work (at 2 am), but one also jumped out in front of Vicki last Friday (abotu 9 pm). There has been plenty of room between us and the deer, but I'm not used to this much activity at this time of the year.

+1 As the weather warms up I typically start riding earlier in the mornings. I have seen several deer, definitely more than usual? Are the local hunters falling asleep on the job?

I think the deer are reading this thread. This morning (2 am) while on my way home from work the deer sent a possum to run out in front of me....but I didn't see any deer.

Hope everything was fine other than the deer casualty.

yup those Givi bags are very durable. no damage to rider or bike. The dear and my shorts were the only casualties.

Last night I found out that a friend of mine hit a deer down near Aiken a couple days ago. He went down. Broken arm, couple ribs and collapsed lung. He was wearing a helmet (open face) but no other protective gear. He had surgery yesterday and is expected to make a full recovery.

Deer worry me more than any other riding hazard because, in my mind, they are the least predictable. Wear your gear, stay alert and enjoy your ride.

Stretch - glad your encounter with a deer turned out as it did.

Sorry to hear about his injuries, hope he heals up quick.
I know I was lucky this time.
on a related note, baked on deer blood is very dificult to get off your exhaust.

thats why harley riders say loud pipes save lives usually scares deer outta the way

if you say so.
the guy right behind me had a pretty loud exhaust, and if I hadn,t taken bamby out he'd have jumped right in front of him.

maybe the bike has to say POTATO POTATO POTATO to scare the dear away:hysterical:
