Re: Wheels Through Time / Maggie Vallen

I've still got them. Sitting on my desk at Interstate Cycle in Cornelius. I'll earmark two of them for y'all.

Again, each voucher is free admission for two adults. One still avaliable.

Wheels Through Time / Maggie Vallen

If anybody is planning a trip up that way and wants to check out Wheels through Time, I have a couple of "Admit 2 free" vouchers.

Stop by Interstate Cycle and I'll give you one.

Re: Something Ducati never told anyone about the 1098/1198

It would be terribly difficult to prove who is responsible for the fault, once it occurs. Manufacturers should not be responsible for the mistakes or a service department. The shop should take...

Re: US Desmo

I hope that means you got the joke. I thought it was brilliant...perhaps my timing is a bit off as Motegi was almost two whole weeks ago.:lotsofcoffee:

Re: US Desmo

That's it Mitch, I'm going to complain to Yamaha about your needlessly aggressive riding and have them reprimand Cris for jeopardizing the team and constructors championship.

Re: How come that AMF Harley says "Made in Italy" all over it?

He said, momentarily forgetting he owns a vintage Triumph.

Re: How come that AMF Harley says "Made in Italy" all over it?

I nearly river danced when the mail man delivered my fresh from the Royal Post Dell'Orto rebuild kit and choke plunger. Spent an hour or so going back through the carb and she was much easier to...

Re: Saving a '71 Bultaco Alpina.

Surprised? Hmmm... I don't know, I've known you for a while. I think Montessa used Akront wheels as well. I need a single spoke for the rear 18" wheel on the sprocket side of the hub.

Re: Saving a '71 Bultaco Alpina.

That would be great, beats shipping one to England, having new ones fabricated and waiting on shipping back. I don't recall if Ducati ever used Akront wheels.

This is Sophia today

The curvature of the fiberglass tank was an audacious first attempt to "make pretty" for this shade tree mechanic. Alas, it gives her the look of a ferocious dirt tracker and I kind of like it. ...

I'm only half American, my Mother was born and raised on the Continent.

Re: How come that AMF Harley says "Made in Italy" all over it?

Man those are hard to find. Tend to see more SX and SS bikes, a smattering of Sprints and very few Leggeros.

My little 175 doesn't feel like a little bike, even with my 6'2", 200lbs carcass on it. ...

How come that AMF Harley says "Made in Italy" all over it?

Historical note: Harely-Davidson purchased controlling interest in the motorcycle division of Italian Aircraft manufacturer Aermacchi in 1960, in an effort to get into the "lightweight" market. ...

Fister, does your buddy have any rear wheel spokes? Need 3 for the M116 Alpina.

Re: Saving a '71 Bultaco Alpina.

Those crappy fenders are crappy after market. Most of the M85 Alpinas had chrome fenders. They are available but expensive. That's likely the way I'll end up going. But for now, as I intend on...

Saving a '71 Bultaco Alpina.

Back in March or so, came across a Craig's List ad for this '71 Bultaco Model 85 Alpina 250. Went to look at it, got it started and did the deal. Had a few concerns about the running worthiness of...
