![]() Routes 221, 181, 126, Old 18, 226, Hwy 80, are some of the better roads and most commonly ridden roads in this area.
There is a camp ground called "Victory" on rt 126, and rt 221 also has some campgrounds around Blowing rock and hwy 181. Hwy 181 is very dangerous, mostly on the ride down when velocity is greatly increased, but it is also not uncommon for fools in cages to come into your lane. 221 and 126 are outstanding roads. Old 18 is really nice too, but not exactly in the mountains. We in the Charlotte area ride it a lot. ![]()
