Don, you hit it right on the head.
I always fell confident with the front brake and was in the middle of slowing and pulling up to switch back onto that side road. Clean road would bave been very forgiving. I was definately blind to the rocks. I've ridden around here enough I should have know; there is always debrie at the intersections.
Man, it doesn't matter how lite you think you are on the brakes when those rocks pick the tire up into the air.
Anyway, as they say: You can't know how to succeed unless you know what it is to fail.
