Default Car Wreck

I never got around to posting my most recent exciting event in my life but I'm really thankful to still be kicking and breathing. Sorry to those who PMd me and I wasn't able to reply promptly. Off all of the meds now and just dealing with the pain. Drugs always have side effects and I fould that out first hand.

On Jan 11 at about 9:00AM I was entering the left turning lane on Elm Lane to make a left turn onto Blakeney Heath taking my 80 year old mom to a Drs. appointment. A lady driving a 2007 White Toyata Sequoia apparently ran the stop sign and veered right crossing the double yellow line straight for me. My mom and I experienced the heartstopping explosion of airbag deployment, extraction from the car by fire, police and parmedics then our first ambulance ride ever. Some of it is a blur but after a day at hospital and some really good drugs for pain - we were both back home starting the recovery process. Still without a car and enduring the long drawn out process of property damage and personal injury claims against the lady's insurance company.

I'm just damn glad that I wasn't on a motorcycle. I wouldn't be here now. Keep a careful eye out on the highways!

Geez, first that beautiful Rover and then this? You might just give up and get an armored H-1! They're out to get you!! Glad you and mom are on the mend.

Best Wishes on a speedy recovery. Did the Sequoia driver claim a stuck accelerator?? Not funny. I wish only the best for you and your mom...
My wife and daughter both drive late-model Hyundai Elantras...great little cars...but leaves concern for the collision issue...As much as I dislike the gas speculation-driven-reaming we've been taking over the last couple of years, I'd secretly hoped it would take some Sequoias, Exploders, Excursions, Expeditions, and Range Rovers out of circulation...I was nearly killed by a Tahoe a couple of years ago, heading directly for me, across double yellows, about 60 mph in a 35....driver looked at me with disgust as she passed. She never moved her elbow from the armrest, nor the cell from her ear. I'll never forget that look, like I had inconvenienced her somehow.
I hope no one takes my ranting personally. I just hate to see innocent people get hurt. Get Well Soon.

Wow Jeff! I had no idea. Glad both you and your mom are doing OK. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help out. If you need a ride to go car shopping or anywhere else, just give me a call.
