Default Re: unbelieveable.....

i got my weight number out of motorcycle consumers news that just arrived.

i was very shocked! i love triumph motorcycles! owned and put 42,000 miles on a 2003 tiger in two years..including three track days! THAT was a remarkable bike. i did not want to let it go but it felt a little self indilgent.

i rode a 2002 roulette green speed triple alot before i bought the tiger. the speed triple is in my top 3 of all time. i could not get enough of that bike! the power was corrupting...i took it to a track day at vir south course. the beast would loft the front wheel over the rise in the back straight e-v-e-r-y s-i-n-g-l-e lap without fail!

darn bike almost made me break my brain trying to resist its charms and ride like the sensiable repsponsiable person i am trying to appear as.

i bought the tiger for its trunk /bags and the fact that it did not send such a raw strong threatening message. resistance was futile..i remember thinking if i get stopped by the law..i was just gonna say "FINE!!! YOU take it around the block and see if YOU can resist the temptation!!

any way....my summer ruining broken leg is almost healed. i will keep the sr registered as it works great ..is good on gas and makes me grin like a fiend. also performs brilliantly at the walmart supermoto course.

i am going to have to choose one "big" bike to reregister..yamaha tdm 850, bmw k100rs, or the bmw r100zebra----my adventure bike and closet sport bike.

other riders don't know about the short responsive wheelbase. the ultra low center of mas(weight is between your big toes). and the fact that the bike has only two of the gyroscopes oriented in the same plane= one very very agile motorcycle.

its gonna be a tough call..i love the tdm as well and it needs nothing. the k bike will need the brakes rebuilt before it can be viable agian.

the zebra....my first choice needs the rear main seal of the motor replaced and all the push rod seals, also the rear brake needs rebuilding.

oh well........

nice visiting with you
