Question Lack of power on old '84 Honda Shadow VT700C

I had starting/running problems with my '84 Honda Shadow VT 700C. First I replaced the fuel pump and fuel pump relay that kept the bike from starting. Then I replaced the battery, spark plugs, and the stock air filter with a new K&N.

I took it to a shop to have the carbs rebuilt with a new jet kit. The shop found a ruptured diaphram slide in one of the carbs so had to replace that as well.

It felt good when I pulled away from the shop, but on the way home it slowly lost power until every gear felt like neutral. Noticed the clutch fluid was extremely low so assumed that was the culprit. The shop guy filled it up, bled the clutch, and the bike started moving again.

The bike definitely starts and runs a lot more consistently now after all the changes, but it *feels* like the power is lacking in higher RPMs. It seems like it revs up more quickly and I'm shifting gears a lot faster than I remember.

Because of all of the air and fuel-related changes, I was thinking the air/fuel mixture might just be out of balanace and a dyno tune might be the best solution to this so I asked for locations here (http://www.carolinariders.com/forums...d.php?p=54131). Was also thinking it could be something I can do, like maybe we did a crappy job bleeding the clutch and need to do it better, so I'm willing to listen to any other tips you all might be able to offer. Not sure where to direct my efforts to improve performance...
