I know we have a few people that also post on CharlotteSportBikes.com so I wanted to post here in case you knew Heejun. Details are in the link above but basically Heejun went down on 181 and hit some trees. Another one of our guys tried performing CPR but he died in his arms. He was riding with a small group and was not speeding at the time of the crash.
Heejun was a solid advanced class track rider who also rode just as often in the mountains. He led me out on my first old 18 / 181 run and was always willing to help anyone. Heejun learned his limits on the track and equally respected the road. He always stressed the importance of gear but accepted the risks involved in riding.
Heejun leaves behind a wife and many riders who's lived he's touched. He is a great loss not only to our sportbike community but our world.
His accident shows us that no matter how careful we ride, how much gear we wear, things happen beyond our control. Please remember how fragile life is and live each day to the fullest because we never know when it will be our last.
