Default Sat 13th ride

Guys,
This one was a very good ride, all day in fact! Plan was gather at a place on the North side of town then shoot up to Lillington to pick up 3 more folks then a winding road to Raleigh and a breakfast at the Capital Club 16 on W, Martin Street in downtown Raleigh....and so it was, a very nice slow paced ride. I should have saved part of that route, to retrace again. It was an unusual gathering of bikes to say the least....We had Ducati of two different eras, BMWs old airheads that looked like they had just left the factory and our own , Rick on the GS.....There were even several American made machines representing old school and new technology present, thanks to Lenny for rockin that 269,000 miles motor companies finest....in olive drab.... There was even a lady, I did not get to meet on a 3 wheeled Harley.
We even got Joe Brown to show up on his almost broken in ST1100 showing a scant 157,000 miles on the odometer there was actually two on this run another being piloted by Big Frank, his was one of the few that had ABS and traction control before it became the newest technology on bikes.....
Back to the food just for a minute if I may, it was buffet style and all prepared on the site, copious amounts of eggs, home made hash browns, sausage gravy that was more sausage than gravy several breads and beverages to fill you up, I talked to the young man who ran the place and he wants to try to do a Sunday Biker Brunch....in my humble opinion a restaurant worthy of a revisit....16 W Martin Street {capitalclub16.com}
After a hearty meal we threaded our way through downtown Raleigh to the Seaboard Station where the bike show and all the vendors were set up, saw several really nicely set up older bikes and some rat bikes as well, strange saw no sr500s there....Having played nice we decided to head out and wanted to check out some more back roads, so we went back on hwy 50 caught 42 to Fuquay then headed towards Duncan then threaded our way back to Lillington and on to home. All in all it was a great Carolina Riders day
Super Jim you missed a good one here buddy....missed you being with us on this one.....Where to next...maybe we need to do us a ride to Uwharrie ad Eldorado area.....what say you all......?????
