Default Oil cleans?

Hey motorheads, This is the FJR motor that fouled spark plugs every couple hundred miles or so. It also burned the stator so it has been delegated to the recyclers.
In tearing it apart I found that #1 cyl, the offending one with the bad valve guides is the cleanest. That just doesn't make sense in my little head. I'd think it would be the nastiest, because it oil fouled plugs.

Why is it the cleanest?
