If this is your first time visiting our site - WELCOME! CarolinaRiders.com was founded in 2002 as a meeting place for riders across the Carolinas. Everyone is welcome here and we have riders of all different types of motorcycles. Our forums were started in February of 2003 and we had grown to over 1 thousand members. We have suffered several hacker attacks since then and pruned our membership of accounts where members had not posts recorded and were "lurkers" as we call them. This was done since hackers were creating user names and somehow accessing the database through a hidden program they loaded to the server. All of the hacker attacks were repairable until our most recent attack on May 5, 2006. Some wreckless person with too much time on their hands over in Turkey as far as we can tell gained access to our site and database. A redirect was written into the site which removed any administration abilities. With the time involved in trying to repair the database or upload the backup copy of the old database, a decision was made to move away from phpBB2 forums (which is a free software distribution that has always been the forum of choice for hackers) to VBulletin (which is purchased and licensed).
