Waxhaw to Blowing Rock Yesterday.
Every ride should start out with a Haunted house shouldn't it ?
Route 5 in Rock Hill.
Sam came with me for a little while on this ride, he likes his shoe laces to fly around in the wind, I think it's a Harley thing. lol
V rods have their tiny fuel tank UNDER the seat. lol
We had a great Chicken fried steak breakfast at Dixie Diner on rt321 in Clover, SC.
Definitely lived up to their sign. We both enjoyed our meal and the human interaction.
Sam tied his shoe...
This Groundhog ran across the road in front of me on 279 on the way up to Old 18, so I stopped and took his pic since he was too stupid to escape the corner and get out of sight. lol
Old 18 has a cable car across the creek to rescue people in times of flood.
Looking South from the cable car location...
Looking North from the cable car location on Old 18...
Coolest graveyard on a little hill next to Old 18...(and yeah, mud was slung up on my bike lol)
Sam rides a little too far back for my tastes, it's a really dangerous position when riding together.
I need some LIVE BAIT, fuel stop at the top of Old18
Brown Mountain Lookout on NC181.(Where the road crosses the ridge), location of myths and weird sightings of lights, and many fast motorcycles passing by.
Brown Mountain Lookout...
Very bogus about Jonas Ridge going under. It was owned by friends so it's demise is painfull.
Last week I was up on 181 and I went out a little dirt road to a cool spot and had lunch.
There was this 3000lb box of Golden Cane Syrup dropped off there. Some scumbag did this.
I got law enforcement involved and they cleaned up the ton and a half of Sugar!!!! (The rest of the area needs trash cleaned up still)
It was gone yesterday when I stopped by the spot and took a break.
I hope they figured out who is responsible and busted them. (I emailed pics to Forest Ranger Tilley in Pisgah)
She was on guard.
Slacker Radio is handy on a motorcycle ride...
I went out on Table Rock Road, and got some great shots in someones yard.
What a view to have to tolerate...
In this pic you can see Brown Mountain Lookout on NC181 on the left...
Table Rock Road is about 8 miles of dirt.
NC221 is simply spectacular. I love this road.
You actually ride under this outcropping of Stone on 221.
The BRP was crowded yesterday..
Lots of Classic cars though...
Price Lake, BRP
Finally got past that stinkin slow poke in the Civic.
BRP is outstanding though, really cool road. Shame about the low speed limits though. lol
Even the bridges on the BRP are cool.
But the coolest thing about the BRP are the many Viaducts...
People even hike the BRP!!!!
I made it back down 181 and Old 18 before it started getting dark, I beat feet from Gastonia home to Waxhaw. The CX500 holds 75mph on the Interstate no problem.
This is the Flyover at the 85 and 485, dusk.
Another amazingly great ride in the books.
