Default Something Ducati never told anyone about the 1098/1198

And I think I know the answer,.,,they want factory trained techs to do the work......

If you have one of these models, beware!!! The airfilter can be installed incorectly even by factory trained technitians which will cause irreversible damage to your top end in which repairs can cost is excess of $6K.....
Off course, if you are out of warranty, good luck even if the dealer does the work....

We are screwed one way or another......

Now let's see....I have a couple of questions for all to answer: ...

If an Air Filter is incorectly installed (let's say by the dealer #1 during a routine scheduled service call) How long (time and mileage) do you think it will take for (NORMAL) unfiltered air go down the throtlle bodies directly into the cylinders and eat the piston and piston rings creating a puff of white smoke as discovered by dealer #2? 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 100 miles, 1000 miles 2000 miles?

We know if Terry anwers this question, it will be a week....however for all others....?????

Having Ducati know of the problem; How long do you think the dealers #1 liabilty is about this issue?

Who should pay for the parts and repair if the bike is out of warranty and dealer #2 finds the mistake made by dealer #1 less than a year after initially accomplished?

Remember, Ducati wont tell you because they want the dealer to do the work themselves, but when the dealer does the work incorrectly, how long is that liabilty?
